I've been Romanized!
08/16/14 12:21 AM

Had my '06 ECU flashed by Romans. AMAZING! Riding through town at 25mph the shifting is smoother, throttle is more predictable, and lag is gone. The bike will practically idle in 2nd gear. Highway speeds, shifting is way smoother, acceleration linear, runs cooler, and response is immediate. Passing is just a flick of the grip. 4th gear at 4grand, snap the throttle wot, and I almost threw my back out! I didn't expect that kind of instant acceleration. I was stuck in bumper to bumper, barely moving at 85° for 15 minutes, and the temp bar never hit the top. Seat of the pants, it pulls harder and smoother to the top. Romans flash removed most of the negatives of the bike. Way more fun to ride. Quicker, cooler, smoother, easier to shift, and easier to ride. It's like a brand new bike! (or at least what it should have been from the factory)
I went with Romans because I wanted a flash for street riding, with smoother, crisper throttle response. I don't care about a little extra horsepower, I want smooth, predictable, instant power. I got that, and more. Rick went above and beyond getting this done, answered way more questions than he should have, and was way more concerned about getting it done faster than I needed. I just wanted it done right. I picked the right guy. Thanks Rick!

He flashed my 06/08/10 and i couldnt have been happier with the results. The down low power the bike picks up is great. Romans is a great guy to deal with and you can learn ALOT from him.

Yep, still doing it. Same price of 250. Opinion, same "Best Bang Mod For The Buck You Will Ever Do". We have all spent more on mods and gotten less, Of that you can be sure. Cheers

Romans
How much for two flash?... first raise the redline and remove limiter, then burn the custom map in, after I get the tune

First flash to adjust everything except for fuel tables. Second flash to fill in fuel tables with AFR #s from the tune.

If you just go with the flash, you get the "map." It's based on a ZX-14 intake/engine/exhaust with same/similar mods but every bike is unique. A custom tune is more precise. A little better to flash custom tune #s than the map. I'm sure a map is more than adequate for most of us but if you flash it, you can't change it unless you reflash.

This is why it's still a good thing to have a PC5 on the bike even if you get flashed. Flash everything but the fueling. Leave the stock fueling in the ECU and you can put whatever fuel trims you want in the table with the PC5. You can DIY if you get a WB2 or Autotune and an AFR gauge. The DJ LCD has an AFR gauge on it so that works well with the PC5 for self tuning.

What Rook said lol

Kruz it's 250 Flashed any way you want as many times as you want. Life time Free support. Shipping cost would suck though. Can I ask why ?

Don't want this to turn ugly so I will keep it brief. If you already have a Power Commander on your bike keep it. Reason being, You have so many more options available to you. Custom Dyno Tune, Auto Tune, Brock Maps, MR12 Maps, Ivan's maps etc. Most important of all, Your very own custom Dyno tune made on your bike, your fuel, your elevation, That Race Day's AR.

On my own bike I use PCV,,, just to dame easy to keep all the doors open. Once fuel mapping flashed in, Custom fine tune is all you have left. Even then you need the PCV Again or bring software with you. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

If you don't have PCV or 3 ya sure go for it. Save the money.

so far my fuel is "excellent" compared to two other riders I've rode with (they seem to need fuel much quicker then me)(maybe a gallon and a half more at fuel stops)...but for now I have nothing but the brocks system...so I guess just a flash would be good..........

I've never thought or cared much about fuel mileage while riding my bike, but I think it's actually got better since Romans flashed my ecu? Is that possible to gain more power and better mileage?

"Is that possible to gain more power and better mileage?"..getting better mileage is all dependant on your right hand.I immediately saw better mileage after my flash(es).BUT...if you're running with the "AVG" display going...you won't be able to find out just HOW to increase your mileage. The only way is to have your MPG display on "current"....THEN you can learn how to adjust the throttling and how to raise your AVG mpg. There are MANY times while riding that you can see 50,60 mpg.But you have to have your gear shifting and speed and such at the right spot."current" display will show you what's working for you and what isn't.I consistently get 50's and 60's while riding....my AVG has come up from about 36 mpg to 45 just by watching and learning from the "current" display reads.I've hit several times over 225 miles 'Range".That's pretty good for this bike. And that's not cruising at 65 everywhere either.

If the mapping was flashed, I wouldn't be surprised if it was leaner than stock. better performance and better milage. I have a 45t rear sprocket so milage is crap anyway. I can go about a hundred miles on a tank.

\yep. it is also geared lower which makes it run about 500 rpm higher on the highway. If I fill it almost to the tippy top above the splash guard, i might get 130 miles if I run it on fumes.
